Health & Safety Update

From email originally sent Monday, October 19, 2020

Dear Students & Parents,

Autumn is officially here and, along with it, that time of year when we provide helpful reminders about how to stay healthy through the winter months. Clearly, this topic is of even more importance this year as we strive to protect our community from the COVID-19 pandemic.

MVC School Nurse Colette Crawford and I prepared the video message below to remind you of what has always been recommended for health during flu season, and to inform you of the extra precautions the Santa Cruz County Office of Public Health has put in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

We also prepared this at-a-glance summary that we hope you’ll find useful. Should anyone in your household exhibit the symptoms listed, please keep your child(ren) at home and let MVC know via an email to attendance@mvcs.org. This applies to all students who come to campus for any reason, including after-school activities and occasional in-person learning. When in doubt, contact Nurse Colette via email or at 831-768-6125 with questions.

Thank you in advance for the many, many ways you are working alongside us to stay healthy so MVC can stay open.

Gratefully,
Dr. Mitchell Salerno
